Magickal Dream Catcher / Self-Empowering Tool
Dream Catchers have long been believed to be a magical tool that traps our nightmares and keeps us safe while we sleep. Native Americans have an Ancient Legend about the Creator of the Universe Grandmother Spider Who weaves the Web of our existence. It is She who protects us from harm by trapping the negative energy and holding it fast in Her Magickal Web. As She continues to weave our Destiny She also supports us with the Web.
Here we have a simple tool that you can make and hang in your personal space. You can trap the negativity that you preceive to be holding you back in Life. However; it is important to understand that the Dream Catcher is a tool and not a depository of yourcontinued negativity. You are encouraged to change any negative habits and make a positive transformation. The Dream Catcher can help you accomplish this important personal task.
Materials:
1- A strong hoop ( an embroidery hoop is very good for this) about 6 inches in diameter. (you could also use a nice branch of wood bent into a circle)
2- Thread, yarn or ribbon
3- Decorations ( feathers, bells, silk flowers, beads etc.)
Simple Compass design: Take a fairly long piece of your thread should be at least 6 x the 6 inch diameter.
Start at the North position and make a strong loop.
Then progress by dropping your thread to the South position and make another strong loop.
Continue this pattern to the East and West positions.
You now have a circle with a cross shape in it. You may secure and cut your thread.
Start another strong loop pattern at the mid point of the North and East positions.
Work around your Circle by continuing these loops at the other mid point positions (East to South, South to West, West back to North.
You now have a Circle with a square and an x pattern. Secure and cut your thread.
Here you can continue this pattern by going to the sections in between the mid points.
OR you can start to tie long threads from the hoop and decorate them as you like.
Once you have completed your Magickal Dream Catcher hang it in the area of your preferred Personal Space.
