A Faery Tells
Of a warm Spring Breeze,
Of Ticking Clocks and Budding Trees.
The Time has come to Move Ahead,
Rid yourself of Negativity and be Positive Instead.
As this difference in your Demeanor by All will be Seen,
As the Reflection of Your Spirit Heart and Mind has now become Pristine.
Here is another story from our Little Faery Friend Arum Lily who is most excited that the Mother Spring season is about to Blossom and Father Winter is returning to His Northern home.
As the Wheel of the Year Continues to Turn.
Come with me back to the Golden Grove that Magickal area that lies just on the fringe of any Natural Green Space or Man-Made Park. Nestled in the background of any group of standing Trees is a shimmering Space that can only be seen by the Eyes of those that have Joy, Happiness and Wonder in their Hearts.
Animals, Birds, Insects and the young at heart (that includes children and adults alike)
always notice the flickering of Faery Wings and the sprinkling of the Magick Dust.
Today Arum Lily would like to share yet another Story about the Faery Realm and how
they preceive Time as only A Faery Tells......
Long ago in the Beginning of the Faery Realm when the All was being Constructed;
Time was not as Linear ( moving in a straight line into Infinity) as it is now.
Time was a notion (a conception or view of a thing) and could be changed to suit your Mood.
Imagine the Rise of the Sun and Moon several Times a day. Or the Starry Night or a Cloudless Blue Sky happening overhead as quickly as the drawing of a breath. And oh the beauty of the Full Moon every few minutes. The Faery Realm reveled in the luxury of Endless Magickal Moments.
But sadly this Time Twisting (as it was referred to) could not continue because the Faery Folk were being restricted from the Reality of Daily Life. Work and harvest still needed to be done or else food would be short and projects needed to be completed.
The Faery King and Queen seeing that this situation would eventually descend into Chaos ordered a Time Council to be formed. This Counsel would be responsible for a New Concept of Time and the construction of a Means in which its Duration could be Calculated
in order to bring better Management of Time to the Faery Realm.
The Council worked for several centuries on this problem and still Time continued to be Unpredictable.
It was by shear chance that one day two Faeries were playing a game of "Catch Me If You Can"
( still a very popular pass time for young Faeries who love to run).
They ran for several days and still no winner. Finally one of the Faery's said, "how long have we been running?'. To which the other Faery replied, "I have no idea !". This set the two Faeries to thinking that it would be a useful thing to be able to calculate their running time. so they placed a rock on the ground and surrounded it with twelve sticks (as this was their favorite magickal number) in a circular fashion ( as circles are another pattern that Faeries love). They then thought of a Sunny day and let the rays of the Sun fall on their pattern. They started off on their run and when they returned they saw that the Sun was still shining on the same stick. How odd they thought since we have been running a very long time
we still have no idea about how much time has passed.
So they sat down trying to figure out what was wrong. The fell into a sleep (because they were so tired from all that running) and when they awoke they realized that it was still Sunny. The first Faery said, "I know what to do", lets make the Sun move a little bit and see what happens to the sticks. So they did this task for many days letting the Sun move slowly over the sticks. The job was long and tedious and the sticks all received an equal amount of Sun. But nothing was really changing except light on each stick and you still could not account for the Time. Then the second faery said, "what if we put in the Moon Shine and see if this effects the passing Light on our sticks?". So they say for several more days gazing upon the Light of the Sun and then the Light of the Moon on their arranged sticks. After a good period of watching they began to notice that the sticks were receiving equal parts of Light from both sources.
They then tested out their theory by having a good run. They left when the number twelve stick was lit and when they returned they saw that the number six stick was now lit. The two Faeries were very happy but did not know how to state what amount of Time had passed. It looked to them that it was "six sticks after twelve". This would never do so they started adding more sticks, smaller ones (of course still using their favorite number twelve) in between the original twelve.
This now gave them twenty-four sticks to use and it was decided that these additional sticks would represent the Moon Shine and the original ones were for the Sun Shine.
Several more days passed and they continued running and watching the Light go around the stick circle.
They could now see a significant Light difference by using this Sun and Moon Shine on the Sticks but could not tell what Time was trying to say to them.
The Faeries brought the Time Device to the Time Counsel who were overjoyed with Their Invention. They set to the task of deciding how to place the device into a working Time system.
All the Faeries were summoned to the Faery King and Queen's Court. They were asked to think on the problem and together they would find a happy solution. Many more years went by as the Faeries watched the Time Device and made Time calculations. In the end everything was taken into considerations and finally a system of milliseconds, seconds, minutes and hours were formed. The harvest and working projects could now be done with great success and plenty of Time left over for Feasting and Celebrations.
To this day in both the Faery and Human Realms the benefits from the organization of Time can be seen.
( pssst.....it was the Faeries who whispered the Concept of Time into the ears of a sleeping human)
Oh yes may it never be forgotten that the two Faeries who thought up the concept were from the famous Kloc Faery Family and they were forever honored for their inspirational work by using their name for the first constructed Faery Time Piece by the Faery King Himself called a Clock.
